JaneDaisyCat
And speaking of weird rocks, I just noticed this one in my tray -- what do you think of this one? It looks like it's different inside a weird outer layer? Thanks for any thoughts!! It's prob not a fossil either!! The "skin" is so weird and complicated tho-- the photo doesn't show it close enough..
ynot
This last piece is a typical granitic rock. Intrusive igneous type rock. Close to Granite, bit different mineral/crystal content. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." Seguidora-de-Isis
Even rocks within one rock type may have a highly variable composition, and your sample also does not escape this rule. Since it is not green, I soon dismissed the possibility of being kryptonite . It is quite similar, and I believe it may be gabbro, an igneous rock of volcanic origin. Is It real, or it's not real, that's the question!

But I guess that is splitting hairs. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
