nautilus
I've only recently developed an interest in fossils and have been out hunting them for the past 6 months. I appreciate the feedback. When I found this, I kept looking at it with a magnifying glass trying to figure out if it had a Home and Hearth stamp on the bottom. But the bottom has small fossils in it. Rockwood
I suspect it may be both in a way. It appears to be carved limestone. Any fossils in it may be too small or degraded to identify though. Another possibility is that it is a man made cast. The bubbles are a tell for such a thing. MeargleSchmeargl
Can you provide more, sharper images? Would like to see the surface texture better... Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

ynot
I agree that it looks like a weathered piece of plaster of paris. Maybe an old garden gnome(?). Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." My Fossil collection - My Mineral collection My favorite thread on TFF.

Rockwood
Looks like the concrete that garden sculpture is sometimes cast from to me.
nautilus
I understand the feedback, doesn't hurt my feelings a bit. All I can say is this piece was found in an area that looks to be part of a seabed and a couple thousand yards from a sulpher seepage area. When I found this, the bottom side was very soft due to the high sulpher soil that I found it in. So in rinsing it off this is how the bottom came out .
