Dating someone is a good way to get near to their fossils. ;)

I wouldn't exactly call this a date.

No, that's why I asked if she was married. A date for me! :)

Thank you for sharing my friend Jeffrey P.

Beautiful specimens, especially the Eurypterid which was what I liked the most! :o

Lisa told me that eurypterid was her favorite in the collection.

Well, wifey suffers from Tortoise Envy anyway.

Tidgy will be happy is she ends up with new fossils to sit on.

This is a picture of Lisa Amati posing in front of an aisle of storage cabinets just to give you an idea of how the collection appears. I spent almost two hours viewing the collection, but was only able to see a tiny fraction of it.  Someday I hope to return and see more. Eventually, it is hoped that more of the collection will be on display so the general public can view and admire it. I'm sure we would all love that:

We have some of the same style cabinets at PRI.  What strikes me about this picture is that the NYSM has all of these cabinets propped up on two-by-fours.  I'm guessing they've done that so that they can move the cabinets around with a forklift?

I was so into the fossils it didn't occur to me to ask about the two by fours, but I suspect you're right about the reason for them.  By the way, I visited the Museum of the Earth for the first time back in September, but I would love to check out the collection in storage sometime.
