MSirmon 256 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 Was working among some river rocks in a flower bed in a midland TX and ran across this. Not sure what it is but think it looks toothy. I am not sure on the origin of the rocks in the bed. If it is great but if not it will go into my really cool rocks collection.
indominus rex 312 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 To me it doesn't really look like a fossil, maybe just a piece of concretion?
abyssunder 5,089 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 One is clear. It has high iron content (pyrite, marcasite, goethite...).
RyanDye 136 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 Looks to be a rock, as indominus said most likely a concretion, which is basically a rock with high mineral content; for example iron concretions, copper concretions, etc. etc.
ynot 6,141 Report post Posted February 25, 2018 I will go with a iron concretion on limestone.
