Crystallized dinosaur eggs?

Any idea if these are dinosaur eggs or concretion.  The inside is completely crystallized like quartz.  It is from Ganzhou, Jiangxi of China.

This picture was taken in the Heyuang dinosaur museum at Guangdong China. So guess a geode like crystallized structure is possible in dinosaur eggs.

To be able to say yes to dinosaur eggs we need clear pix of the texture of the surface and the cross section where it is broken.

Certainly geodized, but whether there is an organic origin cannot be told from the pictures.

Eggs can have crystallization like you posted above.  In Terry Manning's Egg and Embryo Project many of his Therizinosaur eggs had crystallization like what you posted.  The size of the eggs look similar to the ones you posted.  Most likely these are authentic but do need some better pictures of the shell to confirm.

You can see some of the crystal structure in the image below.

Looks very much like shell material and appears to be of consistent thickness all around which is typical of eggshell.  Not sure you would see that with geodes.  The outer shell structure is also very similar to the museum clutch I posted, not quite you normal preservation where you can clearly see the ornamentation on the shell.   They are pretty rough and may be a result of the environment that caused the crystals to grow.

I am bothered by the 'matryoshka doll' aspect, where the 'shell' edge diverges, and seems to make an egg-within-an-egg.
This would be pretty unusual for an egg, no?

Definitely not normal but it could a side piece pushed in since it's not a clean break.  Something to look at if we get further pictures.  I don't see it in the other two specimens they still gives me a shell appearance.

Agree with Troodon- likely that is a piece of shell the got pushed down into the egg sometime after the egg was laid.

Here is a dinosaur egg portion that I have in my collection and it also has crystals- not positive on the place of origin.

Well, looking at all of this so far, you might of actually found a dinosaur egg! I highly suggest to take some better pictures of surface, but if you have the surface it would be highly likely a dinosaur egg is what you found. Congrats! (Hopefully)

This a great piece to have in your collection!

And a good example of what Crazyhen is posting, I think.

It would be hard to find one of those pieces of shell for that much. I'm beginning to think skipping Tucson and going straight for your MAPPS show is in order. Sounds like you are pulling incredible bargains from there.

I do not think the thickness is as consistent as it should be for egg shell...

I think Auspex has raised so good points with that specific egg that additional closeup photos may help resolve.  Any chance of seeing them?

Unfortunately this one was sold and I don’t have any more photos.  But would that thicker part be a result of matrix not removed completely?
