oldtimer
Seems there are quite a few threads asking if the specimen is an egg or not. So I have one in question. It this real?
Ludwigia
It certainly looks real although I don't think those are eggs, but rather some kind of complicated sedimentary/mineralogical deposit. But I have little experience in this area, so let's wait for someone who knows better. Particularly that conical hole at the top of the second photo is a bit of a mystery. 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. TqB
The spheres are intergrown and of very different sizes (clear in the second photo) so I'm going with concretion. 3 Tarquin

Yes, I noticed that too, so I was also wondering about some kind of botryoidal formation. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. It this real? Not an animmal egg(S). Looks very much like a cluster of thundereggs. If You can touch it --- then it is real. Just have to figure out a "real what"! In this case it is a real thunderegg. 1 Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough."
