Gen. et sp. indet.
Hi all. My friend brought me a souvenir he found in Morocco. Based on the locality of the outcroup he gave me, it must be early Late Cretaceous. Since fauna of this time and place is well known to collectors, maybe someone could ID this/these obscure fossil/fossils I labeled A & B? It kinda reminds me Onchopristis. Tidgy's Dad
Hmmmm. Someone was selling this? It was on offer by a man, a shop, a stall by the edge of the road? Where, roughly? Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Gen. et sp. indet.
It wasn't bought. My friend found it. The outcroup is in Draa-Tafilalet region. My friend showed my the exact locality on Google maps. I consulted the literature, geological maps - Cenomanian-Turonian is the age.
Miocene_Mason
I’m not sure how much can be ascertained without at least some rudimentary prep. If you have a dental pick, slowly scrape away some matrix from the fossil as to free it from the stone a little. Maybe then we can see some diagnostic features. 1 “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Gen. et sp. indet.
OK, I'll try. Till then - another possibility: a rudist?
