Visited the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake this past week. They have a good display of Dinosaurs and Fossils.

The first thing you see when you enter is the Lab. There are workers prepping fossils and they have some displays to see.  They also have a monitor to show what they are seeing under the microscopes.

They had a nice display of Green River fossils from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Colorado.

Now we all know that most fossil dinosaur finds come in broken and usually missing pieces and parts.

Here is a good example of the way pieces are put back together with putties, glues, plaster and fillers to reconstruct a skull.

Here is where it may get a little complicated for posting in an organized fashion. They had a wall with Triceratops with a breakdown of species origin, family tree and locations.20180226_142120.jpg.0c7e138efa175e4b37aedad72c9e5ec9.jpg20180226_140537.jpg.8b3a6e079dcf96edbdb0f78cb690b1d5.jpg20180226_141649.jpg.075e29fb0132960488baecfa9438cd73.jpg20180226_141642.jpg.1fcac017c95fe892a31b78e1a42a12d2.jpg20180226_141916.jpg.78fbe8771b76a87a457bda60f16b8c1e.jpg20180226_141903.jpg.47c1991666da960753ea408e2654e838.jpg20180226_141608.jpg.a03a132e9109d4ef43504236a544ee8e.jpg20180226_141613.jpg.2d2b428ad28b2b627b498c840e27f7e6.jpg20180226_141618.jpg.ab7dd429a808378d1925f437a359c953.jpg20180226_141624.jpg.8dd37aced26005340707280318ebeddc.jpg20180226_141709.jpg.b15eab55f57cb2291cfdf21c47e7b9f0.jpg20180226_141717.jpg.2c428da6baadc33d137b5ad181fdeb87.jpg20180226_141723.jpg.dd224ca9ed64ccb48335b339ed8f16c1.jpg20180226_141733.jpg.47769a00e6776aeb38c510d26c35e988.jpg20180226_141749.jpg.ff74dd3e53a1e691b8c078ea51f3d529.jpg20180226_141755.jpg.8c4def838fbae2c4a5f9ba55323af61e.jpg20180226_141801.jpg.0a38e90837b909bd0353d0e5291d958f.jpg20180226_142029.jpg.b25897ce104029b164685af5da5f268c.jpg

There are examples of small sized dinosaurs too.  They flying style was 18" tall and the standing ones were 20 to 24 inches tall.

This is an interesting display.  You can walk over it and it is a representation of a dig site with the bones laid out in the found position in space.20180226_141334.jpg.55d385228daa5922212f38e01ee51c89.jpg

This display was about a dig site that was discovered with two predators over another on the ground.  It is hard to tell by the evidence if they killed the one or were scavaging.

And like most museums they have the back storage areas full of specimens to store and many still to be prepped that are in plaster jackets.

Your pics are a bit small, but thanks for showing...

The lab shots remind me of the same thing at the Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta that I saw when I was there years ago.
