NJ Ramanessin- Possible fish scale impression or geologic?

Hi everyone,

 

I'm seeking your insightful expertise again!  I found a rock at Ramanessin brook recently, and noticed a relatively consistent crosshatching pattern on it.  The crosshatch pattern can be seen a little on the flip side of the rock as well, which makes me wonder if this is just geologic, or could it be some impression of fish scales?

To me looks doesn't really look like a fossil. Looks Geologic.

I agree.

Looks geologic to me, also. Maybe the reptile skin pattern of iron-rich concretion might be the closest.

Ahh, I see, thank you very much for your help!  Got fooled again, but would rather hold onto a concretion and get it checked out, than toss a fossil because it wasn't obvious. Til next time!!
