Found in gem laden scree field

I'm not convinced that what I am looking at is in fact a fossil. I've checked several of my books on minerals and asked a few people and no one knows what these are. We were hiking some drainages in Central Colorado and found these near some copper deposits.

Yep - too blurry.

I like the sound of "gem-laden" but doesn't sound like a fossiliferous place.

These look pretty sedimentary to me. The second is a a bit septarian concretion like.

The green areas might be hydrated copper sulfate and  hydrated copper carbonate. Maybe the specimens are copper ores.
