New Jersey Cretaceous bivalve? ID help

I found this in a Cretaceous stream in Monmouth County New Jersey. I assume it's a bivalve but I couldn't find anything on in the NJ fossil websites. Anyone know what it is?  Thanks!

I'm not even close to sure, but this rings the Mussel bell for me.

It should be in Horace Richards Cretaceous of New Jersey (Volume 1). I believe it's available on line. Nice specimen!

just downloaded both volumes so they are definitely available (plates are scanned though of course)

I second that Tim! I was looking for something productive to do on this 'snow day' so I'll be reading both volumes through. Thanks for that!!

 

I'm still thumbing through, haven't found an exact match but a few look kind of close.

It does have that look.. I didn't see Mytiloides in that Cretaceous New Jersey book but i'm looking around seeing if I can find any examples of them from New Jersey.

I was thinking a legumen but just a guess. Ralph Johnson is definitely the person to identify this.

RJ responded. He is calling it Inoperna carolinensis Conrad.
