frankh8147
I found this in a Cretaceous stream in Monmouth County New Jersey. I assume it's a bivalve but I couldn't find anything on in the NJ fossil websites. Anyone know what it is? Thanks! -Frank
MeargleSchmeargl
I'm not even close to sure, but this rings the Mussel bell for me. 1 Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.
Plax
It should be in Horace Richards Cretaceous of New Jersey (Volume 1). I believe it's available on line. Nice specimen!

frankh8147
I second that Tim! I was looking for something productive to do on this 'snow day' so I'll be reading both volumes through. Thanks for that!! I'm still thumbing through, haven't found an exact match but a few look kind of close.

Plax
I was thinking a legumen but just a guess. Ralph Johnson is definitely the person to identify this.
