Hi y’all,

I’ve been hurting for some good fossil hunting since moving to Memphis and as luck would have it a job put me within 3 hours of NSR.  Not to mention the water level reports from last week that I’ve been salivating over.  So I hopped in the car and managed to get out and hunt last Friday, Saturday with 2 friends, and Monday.(Sunday I went to Post Oak due to weather lol).

Water is still pretty high in most areas and some serious water hiking had to be done to get to the bars.  I went in twice and my buddy went all the way in.  Most areas where I hunted were undisturbed and fresh for the picking.

Awesome finds! Be ready for when the water recedes.

Unfortunately I’m a bit far to get down there as much as I would like.  I saw the rain and I went for it.  There will be tons of stuff once the water recedes for sure.  I’ll be back in 3 weeks to see what I can scoop up.

Just so you know...I think John S. might have been referring to this one:..also from the NSR but collected way back in the 1980s.

Might be considering they were found only 30+ years apart and may have been there 80million years. LoL   My buddy found this chunk.

In one day you made a season's worth of great finds. Of course the bones are exciting, but I like the gastropods too. Big congratulations.

Find the skeleton that's being unearthed? :bone:

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.
