Runner64 Posted March 11, 2018 Share Posted March 11, 2018 Hi there had a successful outing at Mazon Creek today! Came back home with a 5 gallon bucket full of nodules. Made it a long walk back to the car though! Was hoping to get some insight on some of the preopened nodules and the ones that crack open in the future. 1.) 2.) I’ve never really explored them at all. Hi there, I haven’t found much and am very poor at identifying these fossils. The hunt is why I do it though. Nothing beats finding a nice, big, intact nodule sticking out of the ground. A few fossils I’ve found are some jellyfish, a piece of a tully monster, and parts of some plants including the common fern species. However there’s a wide variety of what can be found! I am not seeing anything in the second concretion and in regards to your last concretion, soak it in white vinegar for a while and then use a toothbrush and water- that should help. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanks for the help! One other one that caught my attention is this one: mostly because of the lines coming out from the middle of the nodule half.
