OK,I finally got some time to play with My microscope.I spent the last 3 hours trying to get pictures of some of the finds from this nano matrix. Here are the pictures I have taken so far...

Group shot of some fish and assorted other things (no scale)

The rest of the pictures were taken at the same magnification level (3.5 millimeters top to bottom).

Here is a picture of the scale...

Here are some fish teeth....

Two angles of same tooth...

I was really hoping to find some dermal denticles (placoderm scales), which is why I was searching this nano matrix.

I surpassed My wildest dreams with what I found.

Most will only lay one way so it is hard to get more than one view.

Here are some more...

OK, that is a little over half of the placoderm scales that I found.

Having overload problems, so I am done posting for now.

If You want to see the rest Just let Me know.

These are quite gorgeously detailed. Great micro-photos, and what a productive matrix! :dinothumb::envy:

I used a .4 mm sieve on a good amount of STH matrix and found lots of ray dermal denticles but not a single shark or ray placoid scale.  I saw a placoid scale posted from STH here on TFF but think they are pretty rare in STH matrix.

I think that I was using a finer screen, have lots of things that are under 0.25 mm in what I have searched.

That being said, most of the placoid scales (that I found) should have been "caught" by Your 0.4 mm screen.

I posted a placoid scale, 2 years ago, and @PA Fossil Finder added one to the thread.

OK, that is all of the pieces I have closeup pictures of (and all of the placoid scales I found.).

Will post more of the other finds when I can.

Hope Y'all liked the show.

Marvelous ! Could be difficult to see difference between dermal denticles and teeth...
