A long pointy tooth (fang?)

I went to Post Oak Creek this weekend.  Lots of fun and lots of fossils to ID and enjoy.  The wealth of info on this site has proven immensely helpful in helping me ID my finds. Thank you all!

I am having trouble with identifying this tooth.   If you have any ideas please let me know. Any help is much appreciated!

There is not enamel, so I'm thinking fish spine - but wait for the experts. :)

Not a tooth, its a fish dorsal spine. Catfish?

I agree with fish spine. Looks modern to me also.

I have seen so many of these, although on living catfish, (and endured the agony of a puncture or two) but I don't think I would have ever recognized it without your help. Thank you all!

Yeah that looks like a modern catfish spine, been stung by those a few times before while fishing
