I wouldn't say that shark teeth have no scientific value, but since they have been washed out their source formations, they have lost the most important kind of information for a fossil - exactly where it was deposited.

 

It was ridiculous to start quoting $7000 as a value for a shark tooth.  Most river teeth are pretty beat-up and sell by the pound.
