Miocene_Mason
On our favorite auction site I have found a great deal for anyone who can afford it: A fossilized Pepperidge dark gold fish. According to the description it’s “probably a few million years old” and “the missing link”. This can be your for a reasonable 999.95$ but the seller is accepting offers. Seems legit to me. Perhaps our fish experts can identify species? 3 “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Kane
LOL. Maybe something to consider if the seller throws in the 1962 quarter. ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Macrophyseter
I'm pretty sure that this is more like an attempt to make a meme rather than intentionally scamming someone. Remember that time when someone sold a single hot cheetos for over a hundred thousand dollars because it "shaped like harambe"? If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

This is a late Cretaceous fish, look at this life reproduction: This was before the “smiles back” allele developed. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

jpenn
I agree with referring the specimen to Jasperichthys. It is being sold from Manheim in Lancaster county PA and jasper can be found in the region.
