Hey all.

I saw this tooth online laballed as raptor claw.

What so you think? Dromeosaurid?

Here is the photo:

Doesn't look like dinosaur, rather croc. Also, again not museum quality. There are no described Dromaeosaurs in the Kem Kem Beds.

I'm not sure the two bones are from the same specimen, either.

Yeah composites are common. Though associated or articulated material does sometimes get found in the Kem Kem beds. If it doesn't specifically say that these are associated, then assume these do not belong together.

Raptors/Dromaeosaurids are present in the Kem Kem beds. But I don't think that claw looks very dinosaurian. Raptor material is quite rare.

The age is also wrong in the description. I think this seller is just saying a bunch of stuff regardless of whether it's true. And saying something is raptor sells better.

Though the two pieces are actually quite nice. But I don't think it's what the seller says it is.

Yeah, me neither, I always thought articulated bones in the Kem Kem Beds are extremely rare.

Mmmh.

It is a very small claw, which means small animal...

Don’t think it’s croc.

Don’t pay attention to the stupid part of the description, it’s obviously not museum quality.

Could it still be a raptor??? I can see similar ones online, but I don’t know much.

Maybe @Troodon can help?

Much appreciate it.

I highly doubt these are articulated considering the condition of the claw.  The phalanx does not look dinosaurian.  The claw is harder to call with the proximal end missing but would lean more toward it not being dinosaurian.  Its definitely not a Dromaeosaurid.
