A nicely detailed piece of fossiled wood (branch) found from the Carstone formation (Albian stage, Early Cretaceous) which uncomformably overlies the Kimmeridge Clay.

Not really sure if this has derived from the Kimmeridge Clay itself, but would be interested to know.

Thank you @Tidgy's Dad I'm trying to find out if the fossilisation process of the wood, giving it that (Petrified Wood) appearance and feel to it, takes place in the Carstone itself.
