What fossil is this?

I was looking at fossils for sale online when I saw this slate for sale. It's about 25 cm and I can't recognize what fossil this is. All I know is that it's from the Cretaceous in Latin America. Any ideas as to what it can be?

Regards

Pictures aren't good enough/large enough to tell.

Maybe some kind of plant?

I can't tell either from these photos.

Plant's not a bad guess, looks like a couple of leaves in places, but I'm not sure what the ribbed section could be.

Could it be stingray plates or crinoids? Some parts of it look like bones and some parts look like plant material, it's really a clutter of fossils. I wonder whether I should get it.

It'd be a heck of a gamble.

Could be a number of things from those photos.

Do you feel lucky? ;)

I don't know... If it were me, I wouldn't be pulling the trigger on an unknown piece based on lower quality images and a far too broad provenance. :headscratch:

Well... It is still quite a massive and interesting piece, I bet that if I cleaned it a but and dusted it off we can tell what this piece is;).

We'll be standing by for your update. How is it listed?  "Chunk of unknown. There might be something spectacular on here, then again maybe not. Take a chance, you never know."

If it were me, the unknown out weighs all else. I'd pass.

unless it is $1 with free shipping I would give it a pass
