Hello good morning to all!

I'm thinking of buying this supposed fossilized tree trunk from a Chinese who claims this came from Madagascar ... I'm worried because I can not see growth rings and pronounced tree shells on the trunk.

Is it real?

Thank you all for helping me. :D

I think it is a genuine petrified wood from Madagascar.  The amount of petrified wood in Madagascar is seemingly very large.  Huge quantity of petrified wood (and ammonites) is imported into China for production of handicrafts.  Take a look of the photos attached, they are all petrified wood imported into China from Madagascar.

I see lots of Madagascar wood for sale at Shows and it looks real but not an expert on wood.

Petrified wood might be the most common real fossil on the market from Madagascar I regularly see. I've never seen it faked.

It's real and quite pretty even without growth rings being obvious. :)

A lot of Petrified has not got growth rings but if you are after a sample with strong growth rings I would look at specimens from the USA . I have some beautiful specimen from the States. Saying that this is very nice piece I would be happy with owning it.

Definitely real. If it was fake they would try to make it perfect. Those holes would not be there.
