(Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) Was lucky enough to find another one of these lovely creatures with a bit more of the top intact, maybe this can help with a positive ID. Also wondering if I should attempt to remove some of the stone attached to the outer side or if that could potentially ruin it more?

Probably Oligocene.

If you choose to try to remove some of the limestone, I suggest an air abrader with a delicate touch.

I'll see what references I have

The bottom of this echinoid looks like Hardouinia. Most likely from the Cretaceous Peedee Formation.

would like to see the Periproct cleaned. Can we get a measurement on this? Am agreeing with Al Dente.

Hollow echinoids are very difficult to clean without popping them.

I will post a measurement later this evening, and I will also try cleaning the Periproct

I will definitely defer to the echinoid experts here. I was looking at the matrix and the overall shape, and it reminded me of the Oligocene echinoids I'd find on Topsail Island, NC with similar matrix attached.
