I think Solenastrae hyades may be a modern coral.  You may want to consider Astrhelia palmata for an ID.  However I'm not a coral guy and would defer to those with more knowledge in this area.

Many Thanks!   I had looked at Septastrea; but could not find a nice picture to compare with.  I have downloaded the dissertation...
