Found this nice coprolite with a tiny shark tooth visible. Found last week in the North Sulfur River. The pictures don't do it justice unfortunately...

That is one of the best coprolites that I have seen.  I would'a sniffed it before picking up.  My wife hates that.

Thanks for tagging me! That is one pretty piece of poo!  Are you all sure that is a shark tooth? If I'm looking at the right area, I think the small ridge that resembles the root of a shark tooth is just coprolite material. It does look like the edge of a bone (guessing from a fish) poking through just below it. Either way, a beautiful formation.

Get some close-ups of that tooth? Other lighting and angles to try and make it do justice? Maybe @Al Dente can help with what the tooth-looking but is.

That is an incredibly cool piece of dookie! Fotm?

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

Now the question remains, did the pooper swallow a shark whole or was there simply a coprophagus shark that thought poop would make a good snack? :zzzzscratchchin:

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Looks like boney material with some of the matrix encasing it.

Too much bone not enough poo.

Could be just a coprolite worn down to the hardest part of the specimen.

There should be something for scale.

BTW: I can't find the tooth.
