minnbuckeye
I find recepticulites (fisherites) quite often in our Ordovician rocks. The fine anatomy of the cross sectional pieces are always parallel. This appears to fan out which makes me question recepticulite. Maybe it is an optical illusion???? Actually looked further into this and found Silurian Recepticulites that definitely fan out. Any Silurian formations around? Couldn't copy and paste the picture.

Hmmmm, I don’t believe the lake has any Silurian formations nearby from what I’ve read, I may have missed something though. I believe the material around where I found this is from the Iberville formation, which is mid Ordovician.
