I finally took some pics of the wonderful box of goodies @Kane gave me! Man that was heavy. When I opened it I found out why. Here is what I got. Thank-you so much!

#1- a bag filled with a bunch of nice brachiopods, crinoid pieces, a small coral, and what I believe is bryzoans.

#2-a really cool Hashplate

#3- another Hashplate

More to come..............

Since everyone is showing their gifts from the outing- this one's mine from Dave Darktooth, a large partially disarticulated thorax and pygidium of a Dipleura dekayi trilobite. Thanks again Dave.

I saw my co-worker, Mike, this morning and he told me that when he and Gina left the dig Gina commented on how nice and friendly everyone was. They are looking forward to going on more hunts. Just wanted to let you all know you made a great impression on them. I can't say thanks enough for being able to spend time with a great bunch of people!:)

Whoa those are some incredible fossils! Both the finds and the gifts. Seems like everyone got spoiled by not only Mother Nature, but also by fellow friendly fossil hunters!

And those bivalves are awe-inspiring :default_faint:

Congrats everyone!!!

This trip was another great example of the kind, generous, knowledgeable, hard-working and slightly off-center population we attract here on TFF.   Leila and I enjoyed sharing our day with all of you.

One of the many high points was Shamalama Dave's joyous discovery of a terrific, large, disarticulated but beautiful Dipleura. That, along with a fine-looking goniatite brought a smile to all our faces.

I managed to find a nice little Goniatite as well, in the same layer that Dave had been looking in.   DSR-TFF9-Goniatite.thumb.jpg.de781790e989af2394960c369bb1671c.jpg

While I didn't make the spectacular find I was looking for, like Deb's Pac-Man fossil, I did come away with lots of specimens that I'm real happy to add to my collection.
I was happy to find quite a few nice cephalopods, including this Spyroceras,

DSR-TFF12.thumb.jpg.1525f54cd453ce966d84fbaea3f3fc5b.jpg

and this Michelinoceras,

I found this bivalve, Modiomorpha concentrica?

DSR-TFF7.thumb.jpg.805142dc5735e36f30555267c22f793b.jpg

and a few gastropods that I like. I think these are both Glyptomaria capillaria,

I always like tales of trilobite hunting, and I'm especially fond of Greenops tail tales.

Congratulations Mike (Pagurus) on some great finds, especially that goniatite and thanks for sharing photos of Shamalama Dave's finds. Here are more of my finds, some of the commoner species at Deep Springs Road. First, a trio of bivalves: (clockwise) left- Grammysia bisulcata (found in the open in the talus), right-Modiomorpha concentrica (a flattened two value specimen), and bottom- Paleoneilo emarginata, next a bellerophontoid gastropod, Retispira leda, and lastly, a spiriferoid brachiopod, Elita  fimbriata.

Are you actually wearing T-shirts?!?!?!  Viola and I visited Hungry Hollow on Saturday and we were completely bundled up like it was winter (snow/ski pants, full winter jacket, touque, mittens) since it was 3 Celsius but felt like -3 Celsius, and there were actually some flurries while we were in the pit!!!

I am :envy: for both the weather you had and your wonderful finds - congrats!!!

It was probably north of 12 C in central NY. We got flurries the next morning in Buffalo. The intermittent drizzle cooled things down a bit at times, but you warm up quickly swinging hammers and flipping slabs. :D

It was really awesome to collect with the group this past weekend. It's been a year since I was out collecting due to moving house last year and work being kinda crazy. Watching @Kane in action was kinda of mesmerizing. Like watching "Ninja Warrior" and a Strongman competition. I was nice to collect with him again as well as @Jeffrey P, @Fossildude19, @Pagurus, @Darktooth, and meeting @DevonianDigger. It was a good day to collect with fantastic weather and some really great finds. I'm late to the party but let me make some image contributions anyways (no fossils yet, still working on getting pics of them).

Here are pics of the before and after of the site. The yellow circled areas are where the massive excavations of Kane (higher) and Darktooth Dave (lower) took place.

Then there was this small wasp (about 2 cm or just under an inch long) that Kane found while excavating. Might have been a small nest as there were maybe half a dozen of them. Edit: Possibly of the genus Spilichneumon?

Finally there was some lovely algae that lent some nice color to the otherwise drab grey.

Love the nature pics, @Shamalama! Ever since I got into collecting, I now associate colts foot as the beginning of the collection season. :)

My turn to share finds. I didn't find anything rare or that others didn't find, but since it was my first visit I ended up collecting everything I could like a starry-eyed newbie. :D

Some bivalves and gastros:

Sweet clams. The second valve on one of them is tucked in the rock and looks like it separated shortly after deposition:
