This summer our friend came over NY. I did not know this but MrsR roped him into doing some Christmas shopping for her from one of my favourite shops “ The evolution store” . I got this super cool metal T.rex skeleton. It’s in my mini museum in a bell jar. MrsR and I spent about 5 hours making it tonight. I think it looks cool.

I think it adds to the display a bit of whimsy .

It goes well with the miniature Pteranodon 3D wooden skeleton kit from the same store . Size is wingspan is about 3.5cm.

I wanted to post this last week but couldn't get around to it.  Here's a Christmas ornament that was sold by the Tampa Bay Fossil Club in Florida.  It was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the club.  There are some nice people who run and are members of it.  The ornament is about 3 inches wide (approx. 7.5 cm).

Here's my Moschops that I mentioned very early in this thread after Peat Burns posted a shot of one lot of them and then provided background that I didn't remember.  There was a day in the early 70's when I hit my head on the playground at school.  I don't remember that but vaguely recall being face-down on the hardtop.  My mom picked me up and got me the Stegosaurus at TG&Y, local drugstore at the time.  Good times.

I think I remember Tony saying that it was from a "Prehistoric Playset".  Ordered from a 1970s JCPenney Christmas catalogue I have a few from the same play set given to me by @caldigger and @Peat Burns. Your Moschops is so cool. Thanks for posting

TG&Y was just a mile down the street from us on Route 66. It was definately our go to store for everything ( not much else around us unless we drove to another town ).

I got my first dino toys there. :)

I think that Moschops comes from a set of 5 larger, hollow "dinosaurs" that were sold in the toy sections of grocery stores and variety stores.  I got my set in the late 70s or early 80s.  Here are the rest of the animals in the set (colors are different than siteseers but from the same molds)

Here is the Moschops (red one) from that set shown with the Moschops from my 1970s prehistoric playset from J.C. Penney's.  As you can see the animals from the prehistoric playset were considerably smaller.

I forgot I had posted this bit of history in an earlier post:

This blanket is very soft, and when our grandson saw it on the Internet he said- “ Grandma I need this blanket, these are the dinosaurs from Jurassic World”. Lol

WOW I remember TG&Y stores. They were down here in Alabama about the same time as Zayers, not sure on the spelling in that one. Pre Walmart days

I would love one of them. They have that beautiful vintage feel .

There were still TG&Y stores into the early 80's.  I remember there was still at least one in my area in 1982 but I think the chain went out of business or was bought out by 1990.
