Very nice finds. Looks like a productive day. I especially like the multiple lycopod leaves on one rock.

That one and the large Annularia  are my favorites for today. I really like nice pieces of Flora.

Here are my finds from a couple hours of breaking open concretions from the Braceville Shaft Mine (Essex Biota).

Here are my favorite finds from today and they both are not fossils- they a concretions that contained Chalcopyrite. The picture does not do the first piece justice, but believe me, the colors are stunning. I can't believed that I used the word stunning :)

This is is an interesting mix of colors. I’m not sure I’ve seen those colors before.

Oh man! I love that! It’s beautuful and yes stunning. I am sure the pics don’t do either of them justice. I think I see some greens, maybe blues and purple.

I will start out with my two favorite finds from this session, first up is the smallest Palaeoxyris Shark Egg Case. Since I started this post, I believe that this third one that I have found.

Could it be a Cyclus? Not sure I spelled it correctly. It looks pretty cool. Lmoat like a dandelion ready to be blown away by the breeze.

That is a pretty nice looking piece. I like the colors and how it is open in death position. Makes it sound like I like morbid things though.

I really like this one. It is cool in several ways. It’s nicely preserved and fertile.

its long and slender with the whole blade present. Also it looks like 2 separate nodules formed within one. Is there something else going on with it? Like is there another fossil present on the right?

I have not had a chance to crack anything open for the last couple days, but I was checking through containers today and I came across the fossil that hooked me into Mazon Creek Collecting.

I found this fern fossil, split opened, in a mound on the road to Tipple Hii- Pit 11. I found it within the first half hour of collecting on my first visit to the Pit, I never found another fossil in that same mound ever again.

Nice! The color is so different and it looks a bit shiny. Was anything done to it?

Good eyes Patty- yes , back in the day Many collectors would brush egg whites on the fern fossils - crazy. But when you are young, you listen to your elders.

If you ever find yourself in a surivor situation, you can always give your fossils a good lick for nourishment. :headscratch:

It definitely looks a different colour.  Beautiful piece.

Did you bake it after you gave it an egg wash glazing? :D

Lol- No Bobby, we use to use a small paint brush to put it on and put it off to the side, not in the oven. :)
