I think it's a Mazononmya, an Edmondia, or perhaps even a Schizodus. I will take a closer look, but I don’t see Mazonomya. I will try to clean it up a bit. I do quick on the spot IDs after splitting them, so I see myself misidentifying things or not seeing things sometimes.
Nimravis
@Mark Kmiecik I cleaned it up and I still feel it is a Myalinella meeki. As an FYI, this concretion is not split perfectly in half, so the pic looks a little different than in person.

Mark Kmiecik
I'm not convinced. Aren't these the general aspects of Myalinella versus other Mazon Creek species? Edited July 8, 2022 by Mark Kmiecik added info Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Mark Kmiecik
@Nimravis One of those that presents better in person than in photos, I guess? Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Yes because the right side of that concretion slants downward at about an 80 degree angle.
Bobby Rico
Hi Ralph . Just had an enjoyable hour catching up on your thread, cheers my friend. A lot of great and rare stuff been uncovered. I think Annularia picturesd is real nice in its competition, nice patterned bark too and of course the little Octomedusa pieckorum. Is special too. Keep whacking them and have a good weekend Bobby

Nimravis
Today I decided that I needed a break from going through the collection that I just purchased and get back to whacking open concretions. Here are my finds- Annularia- Taeniophyllum latifolium- I really like it when I find nice examples, like this one. Close up pictures- This looks like a basal leaf of a Neuropteris. I do not know what this piece on the concretion is, but took a close up. Any ideas? Alethopteris- Lepidodendron leaf scars. Misc. plant material-

Tidgy's Dad
Must be strange going back to your own stuff after the incredible collection, but fun and rewarding too? That Taeniophyllum is lovely and the 'fish scale' intriguing. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

Yes Adam, I still have a lot of concretions that want to whack open and I have to get moving on that.
deutscheben
That's an interesting one for sure. It seems like there might be some informative details under high magnification (the little round bits inside it), but I can't say I know what it is!
