(I'm back) - new blog post: the Ashley Phosphate Beds of South Carolina

Hi all! I've been away from the site for a bit - I taught my first historical geology lecture this spring, and ended up spending three nights a week working on a lecture til the wee hours of the morning, and so the last month has left me without enough time to follow up on the forum. I'll try to get caught up over the next few days. I have a bazillion missed messages from people, so I'll get through them ASAP!

This weekend I wrote a new (and very long) blog post about the geology, paleontology, and history of the Ashley Phosphate Beds in the Charleston area - a must read for anyone confused about our stratigraphy!

I'm struggling with some health issues that ebb and flow. When I'm not overwhelmed with everything else, I'm right here.:)

@sixgill pete and @Plax - I will be at the festival and Sarah is giving one of the two talks! Also, @Auspex - sorry to hear of your health issues, but glad to have you back!

That's great for Sara. Looking forward to seeing both of you.

Great blog post. I've really been yearning for some kind of synthesis along those lines. Thanks!

Hey Bobby, quite informative! Your blog has always been chocked full of great stuff over the years and this addition is more enlightenment--wish we were still up in the area.

Regards, Chris
