Spongy Joe

This SCF stuff is really opening up some new windows, and I wish more people were doing it. There are so many debates of timings of origin - Cambrian Explosion, onset of GOBE, origin of land arthropods. etc. -  that it's bound to become a key part of our knowledge. Interesting that the Winneshiek seems to have such a low diversity of SCFs relative to Camrbian assemblages, but it is a pretty odd deposit I suppose...

One question puzzles me, though: so many gnathobases (coxae), and so few other bits. No mandibles, legs, cuticular tergites etc... it's odd, no?
