very big fossil shell I found in the creek today 5/18/2018

hi everyone this is matt again today in the creek when I was fossil hunting I broke open a stone and found this giant clam in side 

it came from the kennedy N.Y. area which is all devonian I think ? here is a photo IMG_2282.JPG.2670feed873d16e99388f2318c883958.JPG

Looks like a gastropod/snail to me!

Looks like a strophomenid to me

Hi Matt,

You found a Megastrophia concava. Nice catch. They aren't that common and commonly fall in pieces during the collection process.

 

You have a Brachiopod. Clam implies a Bivalve which it is not.
