Want to know about small patterns on megalodon tooth's surface.

 I bought this megalodon tooth yesterday and i saw some small paterns looks like

a fabric on it's worn surface.

I never seen like this on megalodon tooth surface before... There's someone know about this? 

 

+this tooth is from South Carolina, USA

5" size

Very observant!

I suspect that these may be artifacts of how the enamel is laid down, revealed by the 'etching' effect of the weathering.

I believe that is osteodentin(e).
