DatFossilBoy
Hi everyone. Saw this fossil online being labelled as fish or reptile fossil. Very cool and interesting piece but I can’t really see what It could be... I don’t think it is a fish fossil. It is 22cm and weighs just over 1kg. I have no location... sorry. On the 4th picture there is some kind of bone or scale material, don’t really know... What to you think? Anything helps. Thanks! kind regards
Ludwigia
Looks interesting, but it's hard for me to tell exactly what it is. Looks also like someone started botching the prep before he stopped. I wouldn't touch it until I know exactly what it is. But that's just my humble opinion. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Fossildude19
It's a fish. The long rectangular scales put me in mind of Vinctifer comptoni, from Brazil, ... but this is very different preservation than you usually see on these. Pemphix
I think Fossildude hit the point. Imo a mashed up Vinctifer.
Carl
I'm in the Vinctifer camp.

FossilSniper
It makes sense that the fossil has no location ID. It is from Brazil. Hmm.
