Rock w/ interesting features.

This is about 1.5" long. It was found in Westchester ny. It seems to have some fossil marks, but the holes make me wonder if it is lava rock. I think meteors are much smoother and heavier, and no fossils.

There may be bits of bivalve shell there, i can't see too clearly, but this is certainly not a meteorite.

Most of the holes in this rock have been bored into it by something, possibly a sponge.

This looks like pegmatite material to Me.

The circular holes are where a mineral has weathered out, there are a couple left in place in the second picture.

The square white area looks like a feldspar crystal and the red spots look like garnets.

I'm not sure there are volcanic rocks like that in NY, though others would know better than I do -unless it was brought in and dumped there by someone.

In pic 4 it is very suggestive of slag. Was there was ever a smelter in that area in the past? But the other pics make me doubt that - it's got an odd color and crystalline appearance for slag, though a crystalline structure is not unusual for slag (I've got some such pieces).

I keep finding black rocks in same area that look like lava rock. See attached below.
