Tidgy's Dad
Just now, ashcraft said: It is a very common occurence in insects, particularly ants and lower termites, where I think it is called tropholaxys? Brent Ashcraft Trophallaxis, I think. It's a bit different though, because trophallaxis is the deliberate passing of fluids or foods from mouth to mouth or anus to mouth, especially in social insects, birds etc, while this process above, for the herbivores is the accidental or deliberate consumption of pooh left randomly by the adults.
