Found in a creek bed in Summerville, South Carolina while hunting for shark teeth.

 

It was on its own. Could not find the chipped piece.

Can we see shots of the broken ends?

Could be dugong rib.

@Zinx  I think it is whale, but we need a straight on shot of all 4 broken ends.

Looks dungongid to me given the size, curvature and solid structure. Boesse would definitely be the one to rule out any type of whale.

This is surprisingly large! I suggest poking around and seeing if there is more in the creek bed/bank - this is at least double the size for Crenatosiren, and perhaps in the right size range for Dioplotherium manigaulti.
