I recently participated with my club in a hunt in a Serravallian site that usually give us a lot of well preserved Megacarditae jouanetti shells.

We remarked that, often, the ligaments of the animals were preserved because the place were they were supposed to be was red. So, we decided to organise a hunt with the purpose to collect DNA.

And it worked very well !

It is still being sequenced by the INRA laboratory of Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle.

I have a good memory of St Pée-sur-Nivelle, once I had bathed in the lake and the water was almost warm while I expected it to be cold! And I came back a few days before Covid.

On the demand of F. Bordessoule, professor of paleontology in the University of Bordeaux i'm helping to separate foraminifers from their sediment.

The purpose is to list the species present in the site of Villagrains that is classified as a paleontological reserve.
