I received these vertebras form a lady that lives in Colonial Beach, Va. and close to George Washington's Birthplace.

I was told they are sharks vertebras but I am doubtful.

Can someone identify them?

I'll post the other vertebrae in the next post.

They are Cetacean vertebrae. The large one is most likely Whale and the small one is maybe dolphin.

Agreed. Look up images of shark verts on the net and you will see they look nothing like these. Sharks have concave centers on both sides.

I third that, second has such a small spinal foramen (not technical term) that I couldn’t imagine it being a whales. I can’t say for the first but definitely cetacean. Nice fossils btw!

I also agree that these are cetacean vertebra.

If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!

I want to thank all for their contributions.

I am very impressed by the knowledge on the board.

I am even more impressed by the courtesy shown to other posters.
