I really do think your item is a male Raja sp. tooth. But good views of it from several angles could confirm or dismiss this.

To put a coin, the best solution is to put the measure in cm (even in thumb, we shall manage ! 1 cm = 2.56").

 

In this case here, it would have been more useful to say (for example) that the gap between every line is 5 mm (0,5 cm).
