prep of a great find

Beautiful prep work on a VERY nice specimen!  How hard is that matrix to remove?  I've done similar specimens from the White River Badlands in Nebraska/South Dakota/Wyoming, USA and I know how carefully you have to work on those to remove them from the matrix without damaging them.

The matrix is very hard and the bone is like plaster. The enamel breaks like glass. A true nightmare!!

I dont know exactly the time to prep but many, many hours!

And the prep of skull was ten times worse.

White River material is Disneyland for comparison!!

I have to agree... White River is Disneyland compared to this stuff.  Assuming the pieces you brought me were from the same site.  The matrix looks the same.
