Hi folks.

I cracked into some very nice bryozoans today. Mostly the fenestella (?) and also see this item that looks like the upturned nose of a dipleura.

Do you see the same ?

Will post some pics of the bryozoans in the general section.

I do see what you are talking about. It has the basic shape of a Dipleura cephalon but the raised cheeks and eyes are not present, so I am not so sure about this

I might try to clean it off a bit and send another set of pics.

The bumpy surface and the un-natural surface contours have me guessing.

Now that it is fully exposed I can see that it is definitely a Dipleura dekayi pygidium. Congratulations. Thanks to Piranha for seeing it for what it was before it was exposed like that.
