Tooth

This is a small, white circle I found. It is 4mm in diameter. From a creek in the Woodbine formation. It might be more recent. Possibly not even a fossil. Hopefully it is.

I was going to say the same thing .. doesn't have the look of a tooth .. more like a small seed.  I will say that I collected a handful of small shapes that looked the part of drum teeth for about two weeks here in Savannah before I realized that

one ... I could crush them under my finger tips.

two ... they were washing out of scat piles that were all over the island.

:doh!:

Is it spherical? Is it a little bit flat or discoidal? If it is the later may we see a side angle view?

It kind of looks like a really worn down Waconella wacoensis. However I have never seen one that worn down or worn down in such a manner.

I can’t crush it with my fingers. How hard are the seeds?

Nevermind. Thanks for the help. Thought I found a fossil. I’ll probably find a real tooth on my trip to post oak creek.;)
