I found this last night in Logan, West Virginia. It looks like a some kind of petrified nut maybe but I’m not sure. The pieces were apart but fit back perfectly.

To me, this looks like an ironstone concretion.

A 2nd on the concretion ID as Tim provided...

 

Not a fossil unfortunately but I always thought they were intriguing with the layering/colorations and check them out closely if I run across any...Occasionally they will contain fossils but alot of times they form around some other non-visible particle. Still fascinating.
