Jaeta
My family and I were at Calvert Cliffs today and discovered this. Any thoughts? Edited June 19, 2018 by Jaeta Typo
The Jersey Devil
It is a pufferfish mouthplate. 4 “You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ― Mikhail Tal
Miocene_Mason
A very nice find, and indeed a pufferfish mouth plate. 2 “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

Darktooth
Nice find! That is the first one that I have heard about coming from the cliffs. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

This is actually a Burrfish/Porcupine fish mouthplate. Puffer fish have jaws that consist of two halves, unlike this one which is one whole jaw. 2 “You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ― Mikhail Tal

Superficially similar fish, easy to confuse (as I did as well) “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
