Skull Piece From A Frumious Bandersnatch?

i have too many questions about things, plus insatiable curiosity. plus i've got a headache at the moment, but that's beside the point.

this thing is about five inches long and has a weird, deep hole in it, and a flat area that looks almost like an "upper palate" area of a skull. the bone is generally pretty thin, which also makes me think it might be part of a skull. but i'm just drawing a complete blank as to what it could be. it just doesn't fit with any structural elements with which i'm familiar. it's either pleistocene or holocene.

help.
