unidentified fossil help

Hello,

I am glad I found this forum; recently I purchased several acres in northern arizona and I found a few rocks/fossils on my land that I was hoping someone could help me identify.

Any idea or suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you

Fascinating item.  Welcome to the Fossil Forum.  I've no idea what your item is, but others will be able to help.

Welcome to the Forum.

I took the liberty of cropping and brightening your pictures.

These all look geological in nature to me.

Maybe @ynot  will have some insights.

Welcome to TFF!

First piece looks like a volcanic rock, probably basalt.

Second is an iron concretion.

Third one could be limestone with iron concretion or a strange volcanic rock, I am not sure and would like to see other views of t.

Not seeing any fossils.

What county and locality did you collect these? I will post a geological map of county once we find out the locality. Knowing the formation will help us ID these. Photos are blurry but I think that I see some crinoid disks in limestone.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Yes these are from southern Navajo county, in north east Arizona, about an hour west of the national petrified forest, close to the little colorado river, and I think its the Chinle formation. On my land I have also found several fossilized oysters and pieces of petrified tree.

It appears that you may be near Winslow, no? Look at the map, what formation are you on? The cobble of limestone with the crinoid stems appears to be Kaibab Limestone, Pk on the map: http://repository.azgs.az.gov/sites/default/files/dlio/files/nid1618/map-03-07_navajoapachecounty.pdf

The Kaibab clast may have been brought in by a waterway and is not close in age to the petrified wood or oysters. Please post pictures of the oysters. I believe that there are Cretaceous oysters in the area.

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

Here is a close up of the egg shaped rock/fossil, it looks like it may have tiny fossils in it, but IDK.

Nice clams. Did they come from a layer of rock that you can identify, such as limestone? I'm not sure what formation they are from. If we find out where you are on the geological map, we might be able to better help you.

The fossils in the "egg shaped rock" look like crinoid disks and possible urchin spines  most likely in a piece of Kaibab Limestone.

Wow, what a difference good quality pictures can make in trying to ID rocks.

Not a volcanic stone for sure.

Or quartz if it doesn't bubble with vinegar. Quartz can be written off like this.

Apart from the Keibab cast and the clam, they looked like rudists to me.

I've checked that cretaceous rudist are found in Arizona, but I can't say if it is possible in this particular zone

This one looks close to volcanic tuff.
