I agree, just wanted to know what type of rock it came from.

It helps the people responding to ID requests if We can determine the geology of a pieces location.

Certain types of rock or fossils can be discounted or confirmed.

There are lots of creeks in Missouri, can You be a little more specific?  Nearby town or county names are usually sufficient.
