CBchiefski
Here you go, not sure why it has the 2nd author's first name and not his last in the file name. EDIT: File removed

minnbuckeye
@sixgill pete, I just returned from a trip to Virginia and North Carolina. While in North Carolina (Morehead City), fossiliferous material was found in a rock pile at my brother's summer residence. I then noticed many people use this rock as retention rock or just for landscaping. Do you have any idea if it likely that it came from this quarry? I am trying to attempt IDing some of the items. The pictures in the pdf look very similar. Mike
FossilDAWG
It would help if you could post photos of some of the fossils. NC has a few different fossiliferous formations that are quarried, so IDing the fossils would help pin down the formation. Don
sixgill pete
@minnbuckeye this particular quarry has been closed for many many years. However there are two other close by quarries that the rock could have originated from that is the same formation. Pictures would help to be sure. You should have put a post in the NC forum about your visit. There are several members not far from Morehead. I grew up in that area; Havelock, Newport Morehead and A.B. we could have arranged a fossil hunt for you possibly. minnbuckeye
@sixgill pete, Such a gracious offer!!! Our time was VERY limited so going on a guided hunt would have been out of the question. I had from first break of day until about 8:00 am to peak around in rocks. Not much time!! Otherwise I was committed to planned activities. I am about to retirement and likely will have extended visits to the area in the NEAR future, so if it is ok, I will put your suggestion on hold! Otherwise, I will post in the next week or two my finds. Have to catch up on the yard work first, the downfall to vacations! Mike
CBchiefski
Funny how many people there on on TFF who either grew up in Eastern NC or have collected there. I still remember collecting corals and shark teeth from the area as a kid.

The only ones I know of are Pine Cliff and the quarries which I am not old enough to go in.
Fruitbat
@Coco It appears that this article is stuck behind a pay-per-view wall or is only available to people with institutional access. I have a feeling that @CBchiefski was providing the link as a one-time service to sixgill pete, which is probably why he removed the link once its intended recipient had accessed it. Just a guess, mind you, but it makes perfect sense to me! -Joe 2 Illigitimati non carborundum Fruitbat's PDF Library

After talking with one of the admin it was decided to be removed, just to be safe. For the record, I would love to be able to provide any publication especially those behind paywalls for the forum members here. If anyone wants the paper, just let me know.
